On May 25, 2018, Terrence Thornton b.k.a. Pusha T exhibited vocal prowess and lyrical mastery on Daytona, a critically acclaimed album about the luxury of time

Released as a part of the “G.O.O.D. Music” 7-song EP saga, Daytona features a mysterious, Ye produced soundscape, reminiscent of a sinister Cruel Summer.

The album’s cover is a photo of Whitney Houston’s bathroom after her drug-related accidental drowning. Ethics aside, this $85,000 photo is a taboo snapshot emblemizes Pusha T’s persona, serving as the perfect thematic face of the project.

Despite its short run time (21 min, 08 sec) and familiar samples, Daytona grew into one of my favorite Hip-Hop pieces of all time.
